Code Compliance Consulting

We provide inspection services for properties that are not inspected by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

This includes but is not limited to federal and tribal facilities. Our inspectors are certified and registered with the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA). and we perform elevator and escalator inspections in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers - ASME A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators.

Having EHEC inspect your vertical transportation equipment can minimize the risk of a catastrophic failure by having a qualified elevator inspector verify the following:

  • Maintenance is being performed as required by code.

  • All safety devices and circuits are operating as intended.

  • Code required testing is current with ASME A17.1 requirements.

EHEC offers the following types of inspections:

  • Initial installation

  • Category 1 and 5 Periodic

  • Witnessing of Category 1 and 5 testing

  • Alteration inspections (Repairs and modernizations)

  • Escalator annual clean down and testing

At the completion of an inspection EHEC will provide a report to the client indicating deficiencies and/or recommendations to improve the safety and reliability of the equipment.

Annual Operating Permits will be provided if the inspection is passed or once the elevator contractor corrects any documented deficiencies.
